Is there an antidote for some forms of adversity? Or are there means of preventing the worst of adversities from hitting us so hard? Yes there is. Proper abiding in Christ is the only way. We are enabled to live as Christ intended. It is right through the N.T. word. This is a short sermon of 30 minutes without the usual notes that normally accompany studies. It was spontaneously written just prior to Christmas of 2008 out of words from the Lord on experiences in life in recent times. In some ways it is an applicational summary of the previous 7 units of study. In some ways it could be seen as an introduction to all these units. (No PDF file available)

Can the adversities in our life be considered an adventure or are they just an annoyance.? What part does God play in these things and can adversity lead to blessing? That is the essence of this study. Writing on the subject of adversity is quite a daunting task. However, it relates closely to the major theme of this series of studies of living in the fullness of life and spirit that God intended. As the Bible clearly teaches that adversity is a major precursor of that life, we need to understand how it appears to work in relation to the teachings of scripture and the workings of God. However, as a man who has lived and experienced some degree of adversity (although very limited compared with some) I believe I can offer some thoughts on how it all works, even though much will remain in the realm of mystery of how God deals with His special saints, in the process of them becoming like Jesus.

This is a fundamental study to understand and help us live the Christian life through the power and strength of Jesus Christ, proving a road map of the details in scipture. From the basis of the Apostle John providing one description of the three stages, another eight sets of these three stages can be found in the N.T., reflecting all the main doctrines of our life in Christ. The study provides charts of these which are best downloaded and printed off before listening to the study itself. For this study it is virtually essential to download the full text (look for PDF file for Unit 6) because there are diagrams available in the PDF document that will make your listening and understanding far easier.
As it is far easier to download the text itself from another part of the site, go to http://www.goodnews.org.au/fullness/index-2008.html/ to do that.

There are in fact only two natures mentioned in scripture, one derived from Adam and the second from Christ in the new birth. Because the nature man has is derived from either Adam or Jesus (unsaved and saved) the second important thing to know is that man himself does not have a nature of his own. Once you realize this you will find it to be a tremendous relief. Not knowing this one fact has led to much misunderstanding of the way we live and the ways and means by which we attempt to mature in our walk with God.If whole text is not already downloaded then go to http://www.goodnews.org.au/fullness/ and select from list.

This next unit examines the nature of man in relation to God. There may be some surprises here for people who have not heard these things before. At first, it may appear to be quite impossible and even controversial, but please read and or listen and check out the references, so you know for yourself. Many have taught it before me and the Lord has shown me its truth. It is a vital component of seeing how our exact nature depends on our relationship with God, either as believers, or in our former unbelieving state. So far in this serious of studies, we have looked at how the mystery in the N.T. that Paul highlights is (after regeneration) the starting point for the believer’s walk with the Spirit of God in faith. There was and is the need to understand this mystery and why Paul was intent on preaching it, but also to see how living out of this mystery is the way in which we can have fullness of life in Christ. This unit of study picks up on that same theme with an example of Paul’s teaching which explicitly deals with the life of Christ within and how he used to labour in prayer for others until this life of Jesus was formed in them, as it was in Him. The particular verse is in Galations 4:19 which says. “My dear children, for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you, - how I wish I could be with you now and change my tone, because I am perplexed about you!” Continue reading ‘Unit 4 Until Christ is formed in you Part 1’ »

The issue of maturing in Christ and living as the N.T says is possible puzzles many believers. In some ways this is surprising, because the Bible provides all the foundational truths that are needed. There are many reasons for the puzzlement and maturing. Some of the reasons will be mentioned in this study. Continue reading ‘Unit 3 How then shall we live? (part 2)’ »
